1. ARE WALK-INS ALLOWED?
We strictly do not allow walk-ins as we prefer not to disturb our clients individual experience. We use a seamless online booking system to make sure our days run smoothly and therefore clients can have a relaxing, stress-free experience without interruption

2. WHAT PRODUCTS DO YOU USE?

At Calm Studio Massage & Wellness, we use the highest quality of naturally derived and organic products. We proudly use 100% organic oils, materials and natural ingredients for all of our services. That's right - we are a 100% toxin-free business! 

 

We are mindful and conscious about our brand choices. Some are outsourced Ayurvedic brands, others are made in Australia and specifically, locally in the Blue Mountains.

WHY?

The skin is recognised as the largest organ in the body and it absorbs everything we touch or apply to it, so certain products can significantly impact the health of our liver and lymphatic system. Therefore, we are passionate about protecting, improving and accelerating your health by using 100% natural products.
 

3. WHAT IS AYURVEDA? 
Ayurveda is a traditional system of medicine that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. It is based on the principles of holistic healing and focuses on balancing the mind, body, and spirit to promote optimal health and well-being. It uses a combination of therapies, including diet, lifestyle changes, herbal remedies, and physical therapies, to treat and prevent illness.

 

According to Ayurveda, every individual has a unique constitution or "dosha," which is a combination of three energy forces known as Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. These determine an individual's physical and mental characteristics, as well as their susceptibility to certain diseases. Ayurvedic practitioners use this knowledge of an individual's dosha to create a customised treatment plan that addresses their specific needs and helps to bring their body and mind back into balance.

 

Ayurveda is recognized as a complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) in many parts of the world and is becoming increasingly popular as people look for natural and holistic approaches to healthcare. It is a safe and effective system of medicine when practiced by trained professionals, and can help individuals to achieve optimal health and well-being.

4. CAN I CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE BOOKINGS?
Yes, however you'll need to give at-least 24 hours notice from the time of your booking. If your cancellation or rescheduling falls within the 24 hour period, then your payment will not be refunded and you will need to rebook at an additional cost. We have this procedure as appointments are likely to fill up for the week and any sudden changes can impact the flow of the system and business. 5. DO I NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

Yes, this is so we can plan around other clients and make sure you have the most relaxing experience possible. We have a seamless online booking system to make the process fast, simple and intuitive....not to mention completely hassle free for when you have finished your treatment! You can book here.
 

6. HOW MUCH DOES A MASSAGE SESSION COST?
The cost of a massage session can vary depending on the type of massage you choose. Prices range from $150 to $190 or more per session. Please see our online booking menu for details.

7. DO YOU OFFER HEALTH FUND REBATES FOR REMEDIAL MASSAGE?

We do not offer health rebates for our remedial massage services, however we do have a return and reward system for regular clients. For every 10 massages booked with us, you'll receive a discount code for $50.00 to use towards your next booking!

8. I AM PREGNANT. CAN I STILL RECIEVE A MASSAGE?

Yes. When booking your massage, please book in for Pregnancy Massage Therapy. Your massage and comfort will be curated accordingly and all of our products are perfectly safe for pregnancy.

9. WHAT IS MASSAGE THERAPY?

Massage therapy is a form of touch therapy that involves applying pressure and manipulation to the soft tissues of the body to promote relaxation, ease muscle tension, and improve overall well-being. You can see the benefits of our different treatments here.

Massage therapy can help to reduce stress, ease muscle pain and tension, improve circulation, boost the immune system, promote better sleep, and enhance overall physical and mental health. You can see

11. WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING A MASSAGE SESSION?

During a massage session, you will typically lie on our comfortable massage table while one of our therapists applies pressure using various techniques. Your massage will normally start with a head massage to get you into your body, and quiet the mind. The therapist will also be guided by your advice prior to the session on any stiff areas that require focus.
 

12. WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO A MASSAGE SESSION?
You should wear loose, comfortable clothing to your massage session.
For Ayurvedic Abhyanga Massage, there is a shower on site which is included as part of your treatment (more details will are confirmed once you have complete your booking). Your therapist will always guide and advise you of how much clothing is necessary to remove, depending on the treatment.
 

13. HOW LONG DOES A MASSAGE SESSION LAST?
Our massage sessions can vary in length, typically between 60 and 90 minutes (or longer for add-on treatments). Please read the description of the treatment carefully when booking so you can receive the length you wish.
 

14. IS MASSAGE THERAPY SAFE?
Massage therapy is a perfectly safe and non-invasive therapy for wellbeing, however it is important to mention any health concerns or medical conditions when filling your online form. You can also mention these to your massage therapist before the session begins. If you have any severe medical conditions, please ask your doctor if you are unsure. 
 

15. CAN MASSAGE THERAPY HELP WITH CHRONIC PAIN?
Massage therapy can certainly be an effective tool for managing chronic pain as it can help to release tension in the muscles and improve circulation, which has been known to reduce pain and inflammation in the body. You can see the benefits of our treatments here.
